Basic Word Order
A basic sentence occurs as subject, verb, object (SVO). Any indirect objects follow afterwards each introduced by appropriate prepositions.
- mo don kitab fu lo.
- I give book to he.
- I gave a book to him.
- lo duk kitab mu kitabuk.
- he read book from the library.
- He read the book from the library.
Questions
Questions are formed by replacing the word in question with an interrogative word, or by using the interrogative particle ha.
- ho don kitab fu fo.
- who give book to you.
- Who gave you the book?
- ha fo duk lo.
- ? you read it.
- Did you read it?
Notice this does not necessarily alter the word order:
- fo don kitab fu ho.
- you give book to who.
- Whom did you give the book to?
- fo don ho fu lo.
- you give what to him.
- What did you give to him?
For better focus, the direct object may be relocated by using the preposition a.
- a ho fo don fu lo.
- {object} what you give to him.
- What did you give to him?
- a ho fo uan ies.
- {object} what you want eat.
- What do you want to eat?
Indirect objects may also be moved to give them focus.
- fu ho fo don kitab.
- to what you give book.
- Whom did you give the book to?
- fu ho fo kin.
- to what you go.
- Where are you going?
